The Parker Prädifa piston guide rings profile F1 are split rings with axial pressure relieve grooves and a collar on the internal diameter. They are easy to install, extremely durable, and allow simple piston designs. Although these rings are produced in a large range of diameters, intermediate sizes can be cut additionally from the next largest dimension. The piston ring profile Fl may be installed either enclosed (see drawing no. I) or open (see drawing no. II).

Field of application:

For the guidance of pistons in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. In the case of pneumatic systems, the application is, however, restricted to lubricated air. In the case of dry air, we recommend the use of our Parker Praedifa guidance tape profile  F2 (see pneumatic catalog).

The mounted rings must show a gap >K< between their blunt-cut edges; for dimensions see the table below. The calculation of the permissible radial force is based on the projected area D. For example: permissible radial force Fr for a cylinder diameter of 80 mm:

F,      = D – (H – a) – q

= 80     (14,3 – 5) – 2,5 = 1860 N

The standard compound is a thermoplastic material.
